Strengthening PhD Education in Biomedicine Through Collaboration
It has always been a major goal of the Danish Research Foundation to support life sciences and natural sciences research. Over the years, the Foundation has accomplished this goal through the PhD School. The Danish Research Foundation has thus entered into several agreements with universities in Denmark concerning the training of PhD students. The objective of these collaborations has been to establish a joint PhD education platform in biomedicine. By combining the parties’ financial resources, educational capabilities, and scientific know-how and expertise, the collaboration serves to intensify and coordinate the parties’ efforts to educate PhD students with a solid scientific background and a strong publication record. To date, these collaborations have resulted in over 80 PhD graduations.
