Disclosure of Personal Information

The Danish Research Foundation is a commercial foundation. The data collected is exclusively shared with the foundation's board and administration. We do not use the received information for marketing purposes, nor do we share it with any third parties unless required by law. The information we receive is used solely for evaluating an application and is treated confidentially in accordance with the applicable regulations for a commercial foundation. We do not share your information with others unless you have specifically consented to it. In connection with processing grant applications, the applicant will be asked to consent to the sharing of the received personal data with the foundation's board and/or administration. Consent is voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time. If consent is withdrawn, the application cannot be processed.

What do we use the information for?

The information we collect/receive is used solely for processing specific applications. We do not share your information with others unless required by law, you have specifically requested it, or you have consented to it.

Security

We maintain a level of security that we believe is appropriate to counter the risks associated with handling and protecting the personal data we receive. We strive to prevent unauthorized access to the information we receive or send online. However, we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of information transmitted to or from us via the internet or collected in transit by others, including the subcontractors we use for data transmission. Information we receive or send through electronic communication, whether encrypted by agreement or otherwise, is therefore transmitted without our responsibility.

We do not use cookies on our website. We are not responsible for the content of other websites or their practices regarding the collection and handling of personal data. When you visit other websites, you should always read their privacy policies.

Storage and Deletion

The retention periods for received information vary depending on the purpose for which we received it. Information received under the anti-money laundering law is kept for up to 5 years after the calendar year of the termination of the collaboration. Relevant information for follow-up and assessment of potential claims is stored for 5 years after the collaboration has ended. Information covered by the bookkeeping law is stored for 5 years from the end of the financial year to which the document relates. Regarding the applications we administer, a number of details about grants and rejections are stored indefinitely if the information is deemed to have, among other things, historical and/or statistical value.

Access to Your Personal Information

Under the Data Protection Act, you have the right to access the information we have collected about you, with certain statutory exceptions. You also have the right to object to the processing of your data, request correction, deletion, and restriction of data that is incorrect, misleading, or processed in violation of the law, and to data portability concerning the information you have provided to us.

We reserve the right to make changes to this privacy policy without notice. In case of changes, the date at the bottom of the privacy policy will be updated. The current privacy policy will always be available on our website.
